I was an English teacher in Thailand from October 1991 to October 1992 through WorldTeach, an international nonprofit organization that places volunteer English teachers in developing countries. I taught English conversation to fourth-year diploma students at a technical college in Bangkok, and it was one of the toughest and most rewarding experiences of my life. My knowledge of teaching English in Thailand is limited to American volunteer groups, but I have some experience with other teaching venues. As an American-born Thai, I also have a personal understanding of Thai culture.
