※ A Lecturer refers to an individual appointed by KAIST who conducts lectures or laboratory sessions without affiliation to another institution, in accordance with Article 2 (Definitions and Roles) of the KAIST Lecturer Appointment Guidelines.

※ Due to academic scheduling, assigned courses, lecture hours, and other teaching responsibilities may be subject to change.

If there are no applicants or qualified candidates in the given field, no appointment may be made, and the recruitment process may be re-announced.

2. Eligibility Criteria

a. Must meet the specific qualifications required for each recruitment field.
b. Must not be subject to any disqualifications for appointment as a lecturer at KAIST.

※ Individuals who fall under any of the following categories are not eligible for appointment as a lecturer:

Those disqualified under any clause of Article 33 of the National Public Service Act

Those whose civil rights have been suspended or revoked under law

Those who have failed to fulfill military obligations under Article 76 of the Military Service Act

Those restricted from employment under Article 56 of the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse

Those who were found to have been unfairly hired at another public institution and had their employment canceled or were dismissed within the past 5 years

Those classified as having been dismissed due to corruption under Article 82 of the Act on Anti-Corruption and the Establishment and Operation of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission

3. Appointment (Contract) Period: September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2026 (1 year)

※ According to the KAIST Lecturer Appointment Guidelines, the standard term of appointment is 1 year, with reappointment possible up to a total of 3 years (including the initial appointment period). Beyond this, new appointment or reappointment procedures may be required.

※ In accordance with Article 7, Clause 2 of the KAIST Lecturer Appointment Guidelines, reappointment may not be granted.

4. Responsibilities

Delivering assigned course lectures and related academic duties (including preparation and announcement of the syllabus, assessment and grading of enrolled students, academic advising in the relevant field, etc.)

5. Compensation

Payment of lecturer fees during the teaching semester and additional wages during vacation periods in accordance with KAIST regulations

9. Additional Notes

a. Applicants must ensure that no information that could cause bias in screening (e.g., place of origin, photo, age, physical condition, assets, marital status, date of birth, family information, etc.) is included in any of the submitted documents. If such information is present, it must be redacted or masked.
 

b. Applicants who are scheduled to be, or are currently, appointed as lecturers at other universities may still apply for this position at KAIST.
c. If any documents are incomplete or contain false information, the applicant may be disqualified or the offer of appointment revoked. Submitted documents will not be returned.

 

d. Matters not specified in this announcement are subject to KAIST's regulations and employment contract terms.
 

e. If the appointee reaches the age of 65 during the appointment period, they will be automatically

retired. The contract will end at the end of the academic semester in which they turn 65.
