I use charades when teaching the present continuous. I type a list of of phrases using the present continouos such as: "The boy is walking in the park." "The cat is watching the bird." "The men are fishing in the lake." etc. etc. etc. etc...... I cut these sentences into strips and place them in a bag. Each student takes a strip from the bag and attempts, in turn to act out or draw, a la' pictionary, their sentence. The other students attempt to guess the sentence. The winner of the competition recieves a sutible prize such as a piece of candy.
